About us

We are a young Christian church in Leipzig. We love God, we love people, and we want to bring the two together.

Our vision

How it all began

Generations Church is an evangelical church plant that Elina and Tyler Charvat started in July 2016 as a service in their living room. Since June 2017 we have been meeting on Sundays at the old trade fair grounds in the Pavillon der Hoffnung to worship together.

We are a young church, excited to share our faith with others and to discover what God has in store for Leipzig.

“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”
2 Timothy 2:2

Pastors and founders of Generations Church

We are Tyler and Elina Charvat. We grew up in Kansas (USA) and met through Elina’s brother-in-law, who worked with Tyler at a car dealership. Together we founded a youth group in our home church, got married after three years of dating and eventually became youth pastors there.

As a little girl, Elina already felt a call to share her faith with other people. Tyler invited Jesus into his life when he was 23 and has followed him faithfully ever since. Through “Assemblies of God World Missions” we came to Germany as missionaries – first to Rostock, where we supported a church’s youth work from 2012 to 2014, and then to Leipzig to plant a church.

We have been amazed by the faithfulness of God, and it has been a privilege to know him so intimately through the process.
