Privacy policy

This is a translation for your convenience. Only the German version is legally binding.

Privacy

Below we inform you about our privacy policy. Here you will find information about the collection and use of personal data when you use our websites generationschurch.de and generations-international.de. We comply with the data protection law applicable in Germany. You can access this policy on our website at any time.

We expressly point out that data transmission on the internet (e.g. when communicating by email) can have security gaps and cannot be completely protected against access by third parties.

Using the contact details in our imprint for commercial advertising is expressly not permitted unless we have given our prior written consent or a business relationship already exists. The provider and all persons named on this website hereby object to any commercial use and disclosure of their data.

Personal data

You can visit our website without providing any personal data. Where personal data (such as name, address or email address) is collected on our pages, this is done on a voluntary basis wherever possible. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent. If you send us a request, we collect and use personal data to the extent necessary for this purpose. All personal data is only stored for as long as necessary for the stated purpose (processing your request), taking statutory retention periods into account. In individual cases, if ordered by the competent authorities, we may provide information about this data to the extent necessary for criminal prosecution, averting danger, the statutory duties of the constitutional protection authorities or the Military Counter-Intelligence Service, or the enforcement of intellectual property rights.

Hosting

Our websites are static pages hosted by the following provider: [ENTER HOSTING PROVIDER, e.g. Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA]. When you access the pages, the provider processes technically necessary data (see “Server log files”) in order to deliver the pages and protect them from attacks.

Server log files

The hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits automatically. These are:

  • browser type and version
  • operating system used
  • referrer URL
  • IP address or host name of the accessing computer
  • time of the server request

This data cannot be assigned to specific persons and is not combined with other data sources. We reserve the right to check this data retrospectively if we become aware of specific indications of unlawful use.

No cookies, no analytics

Our websites use no cookies and no analytics or tracking services (no Google Analytics, no Google Tag Manager, no Facebook Pixel). A few small settings – such as your language choice or whether you have dismissed a notice – are stored only in your browser’s local storage (“localStorage”). This information never leaves your device and can be deleted at any time in your browser settings.

Fonts

All fonts are loaded from our own server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or other font providers.

Contact forms

If you send us a request via a contact form (including the “Practical love” form), the information you provide, including your contact details, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the request and in case of follow-up questions. We will not pass this data on without your consent.

For the technical transmission of the forms we use the service Web3Forms [CHECK PROVIDER, ADDRESS AND DATA PROCESSING AGREEMENT]. The data you enter is transmitted to Web3Forms and forwarded to us by email.

Embedded content (two-click solution)

On some pages we show videos, podcasts or maps from third-party providers. This content is only loaded when you click “Play” or “Load map”. Before that, no connection to the providers is established; the preview image is loaded from our server. Only when you click is your IP address transmitted to the respective provider, who may then set cookies. These providers are:

  • YouTube (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) – embedded via youtube-nocookie.com. Privacy: policies.google.com/privacy
  • Spotify (Spotify AB, Regeringsgatan 19, 111 53 Stockholm, Sweden). Privacy: spotify.com/privacy
  • Apple Podcasts (Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Cork, Ireland). Privacy: apple.com/legal/privacy
  • SoundCloud (SoundCloud Global Limited & Co. KG, Rheinsberger Str. 76/77, 10115 Berlin, Germany). Privacy: soundcloud.com/pages/privacy
  • OpenStreetMap (OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom). Privacy: osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy

Instagram posts

On our pages we show recent posts from our Instagram accounts. The images and texts are retrieved via Meta’s official interface when the website is built and are delivered from our own server. Viewing the page therefore does not establish a connection to Instagram. Only when you click on a post or the “Follow us on Instagram” button are you taken to Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland), where Instagram’s privacy policy applies: privacycenter.instagram.com.

Events and calendar subscription

We manage our events in Google Calendar. The events are retrieved when the website is built and delivered from our server; viewing the event pages does not establish a connection to Google. If you use the “Add to Google Calendar” or “Subscribe to the calendar” links, you are taken to Google, or your calendar app retrieves the calendar directly from Google.

Links to social networks

Our pages contain simple links to our profiles on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, SoundCloud and Telegram. These are not plugins; data is only transmitted when you click a link and visit the respective platform.

Donations via GiroCode

The GiroCode (QR code) on the “Give” page is generated when the website is built and only contains our bank details. No data is transmitted to us when you scan it.

Your rights

You have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing, as well as the right to rectification, restriction of processing (blocking) or erasure of this data. You also have the right to data portability and may object to the processing. You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. For this and any other questions about personal data, you can contact us at any time at the address given in the imprint.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Saxon Data Protection and Transparency Commissioner. [CHECK COMPETENT AUTHORITY]

Objection to advertising emails

We hereby object to the use of the contact details published under the imprint obligation for sending unsolicited advertising and information material. The operators of these pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited advertising, such as spam emails.
